Child Aid - pomoc detom
V dvadsiatom roku platnosti Dohovoru o právach dieťaťa je Child Aid stále jedným z mnohých, ktorí sa snažia o to, aby sa tieto práva uplatňovali. Child Aid je to, čo o ňom hovorí názov: Pomoc dieťaťu rásť, učiť sa a žiť v bezpečných a zdravých podmienkach. Všetci rodičia si prajú vytvoriť takéto podmienky pre svoje deti, avšak mnohým sa to bez pomoci nedarí.
Child Aid so širokou základňou buduje schopnosť v rodinách a ich komunitách v all-inclusive programe, ktorý potvrdzuje, že na to, aby bolo možné deti riadne vychovať, je nevyhnutné posilniť celú komunitu. Program zhromažďuje rodiny a učí o zdraví a hygiene, o generovaní príjmov, vzdelaní, rozvoji okresu, o environmentálnom povedomí a účasti detí.
Child Aid má rozsiahle vysunuté programy s celou komunitou s informáciami a lekciami o zdraví, výžive, hygiene, životnom prostredí a iných otázkach s praktickými aktivitami na zlepšenie podmienok tam, kde je to potrebné. Tu sú dôležitými partnermi na spoluprácu základné školy v oblasti pôsobnosti – deti, učitelia a aj rodičia.
Koncepcia Child Aid necháva priestor pre lokálne určované doplnky k hlavnými oblastiam a koncepcia pracuje s rôznymi štruktúrami v organizácii detí a ich rodín, napríklad vytvorením Village Action Groups z 15-20 rodín s koordinátorom, ktorý je dobrovoľníkom z miestnej komunity. Village Action Group pracuje spoločne na každodennom zavádzaní svojich vlastných aktivít a mobilizuje na účasť ešte viac dobrovoľníkov.

India - Academy for Working Children
The Academies for Working Children identify children out of school, motivate the children and their parents to let the children come and study at the AWC and provide primary school education, grade 1 to 8. The AWC also prepares the younger children both socially and academically to enroll in the formal local schools as soon as they are ready for this, and works with the teachers and community to keep the children in school. Typically, the AWC projects are organized with one main centre with 100 of the older children, and where computers also are used as means of education. In addition, each AWC project has three to four satellites for the smaller children, situated in the middle of the slum. Apart from education, the AWCs implement health check-ups of the children and their parents, skills training and income generating activities, cleaning campaigns in the community, adult literacy, computer training of youths, cultural events, etc.

The objective for Child Aid program is to create a supportive environment for the development of children through organising, enhancing and building capacity for The families and children to foster their own development through different activities and actions under the 10 universal development lines of Child Aid Program. The program is based and structured through activities which are community based and implemented in two districts of Ghantsi and Selibe-Phikwe.
Women are acknowledged as custodians of children, hence focus on training and empowering them to strengthen economies of families. Women are introduced to business concepts through stakeholders such as Women Affairs department, Local Enterprising Authority (LEA) and Citizen Entrepreneur Development Agency (CEDA). Innovation on backyard gardens is supported to compliment on well required healthy diet and supplement on economic income for families, including children. Small scale farming would also possible induce interest on children to venture in to farming as fully fledged employment or business. Other business skills and concepts were introduced and enhanced on income generating activities such as sowing, rearing of chickens and goats, beekeeping, horticulture, small stock production, food processing and packaging.

The program expanded its services on HIV/AIDS on door to door, reaching more people on messages of Child abuse, Safe Male circumcision, multiple concurrent partnerships, positive parenting, TB prevention and alcohol abuse. Mobilization strategies employed focused on empowering local leaders, chiefs, and care givers and, youth leaders to accurately disseminate HIV/AIDS messages to communities. The mobilization also targeted patients on ARV and TB treatment, who were identified and supported to form TRIOS, to realise adherence of medical therapies.
Botswana - Pre schools
The program introduced activities that focused on supporting early childhood development; a significant number of referrals were made for children to be enrolled for preschools on both private and government learning centres. The program was based on identifying six early childhood education advocacy activities which were carried out together within preschools with support of parents mobilizing community to substantiate on the initiative. Vulnerable children were identified through door to door mobilization and were referred to Social and Community Development for preschool sponsorships.
The program is actively engaged in school clubs for both in and out of school children, in cooperation with school clubs children were dynamically involved in different activities. School clubs are credited with inspiring school children to have interest in the development of their communities. Some exceptional clubs had taken an initiative to raise funds to support orphans and vulnerable children. Teenagers were also involved in challenging and mature activities such as panel discussions, quiz, essay competitions and HIV and AIDS lessons; Income generating activities were also introduced to teens to offer sustainability, they raised funds through activities such as marimba and drama.
Orphans and vulnerable children were identified, registered and referred for relevant support to diverse service providers, with interventions such as: clinical services, preventative care services, supply of clothes and school uniforms, to acquire birth certificates, coaching on life skills and provided with psychosocial support including counselling and protection. A substantial number of children have been reintegrated back to the school system and some referred to social and community development to be supported and prepared for reintegration. Through systematic approaches of identifying cases of child labour, the program prevented children from worst forms of child labour and some were withdrawn from worst forms of child labour.
Botswana - Child Labour Advocacy
Campaigns were held on child Labour and child abuse, reaching out to community members and schools with information. The program took on board two farm owners committees which were tasked with training farm owners on child labour, child abuse, children’s rights and labour laws on children and employment.

The Child Aid program builds the capacity of 3,000 families and their communities to work towards the common goal of improving their children’s lives. The project is all-inclusive, and recognizes that in order to nurture children successfully, the entire community must be strengthened. Families are brought together to address a range of community development issues, including health, income, education, municipal development, environmental awareness, and greater opportunity for children.
The DAPP Child Aid program started in Malawi in 1995 in the district of Chiradzulu. Later it expanded to include the district of Lilongwe, where it today benefits 6,000 families in the Traditional Authority of Chimutu. Achievements so far: The participating communities have over the years increased their capacity and organized themselves to improve their lives by implementing various activities facilitated by the DAPP Child Aid Project.

Child Aid is what it says: Aid to the Child, to grow, learn and live I safe and healthy conditions. All parents wish to create such conditions for their children, but many do not manage on their own.
ADPP Mozambique community development program Child Aid focuses on care for children within the community. It takes a holistic approach to the care of a child by addressing all the challenges he/she faces within the family unit, school and community.
Broadly based, Child Aid builds the capacity in the families and their communities in an all-inclusive program, recognizing that in order to nurture children successfully, the entire community must be strengthened. Families are brought together to address health and sanitation, income generation, education, district development, environmental awareness, and participation of children.
Child Aid has extensive outreach programs with the whole community with information and lessons on health, nutrition, hygiene, environment and other issues, and with practical actions to improve conditions where needed. Here the primary schools in the operation areas are important cooperation partners-children, teachers and parents alike.
Zambia - Child Welfare Program
With funding and technical assistance from the Ministry of Community Development and Social Services, the programme is implemented in 18 districts across Zambia. The programme was set up to contribute to the existing DAPP projects in terms of stability and consolidation in order to reach out to children in need of education, care and personal development. The programme elements are integrated into the DAPP projects including Children’s Town, Child Aid and HOPE Projects.

Run with support from Firelight Foundation, The Beit Trust, Croc Shoes, American Jewish World Service, Development Aid from People to People in the United Kingdom, Ministry of Community Development and Social Services and the ministry of education. The project runs a vocational training center that aims at rehabilitating former street youth and providing them skills to enable them to be successfully re-integrated into the community after two years at the project and one-year re-integration programme. The project caters for 80 former street youths and runs a community school with 360 orphans and vulnerable children from the surrounding villages in Malambanyama in Chibombo District.
